Sheffield Winter Gardens – Meet a scientist
RA3 participants visited this special event put on by The Centre For Science Education of Sheffield Hallam University as part of Science Week 2007. Family Science Saturday in the Sheffield Winter Gardens was an opportunity for members of the public to meet exciting young scientists and engineers to find out about the work that they do. These enthusiastic talented researchers each developed an activity for families to come and have a go at. There was a chance to find out about all sorts of stuff from smart materials to rockets. Each RA3 Family Learning Group got the opportunity to spend approximately one hour at this event.
Rex Garrard Talk
Each Family Learning Group attended a family oriented presentation to be given by the inventor of children's television characters Rosie & Jim and Brum. This was held in the Peak Lecture Theatre at Sheffield Hallam University.
RA3 Official Project Launch Ceremony
Each group attending was invited to the launch of the RA3 project involving a buffet style lunch at Shefield Hallam University from 12.15pm to 1.15pm.
